HOME - REFINERY COMPLEX

Technology
Azikel Petroleum Limited Refinery is developing a greenfield, 12,000 BPD Hydroskimming Refinery. It will be built on modules mounted on skids, with the latest technology for low emission. The refinery is rated a Nelson Complexity of 5.3. UOP Reformer technology aims to produce a very high RONC Reformate, and it will be mixed with the LSR and Butane to produce PMS at a RONC of 89.

Refinery in 3D
The Refinery was segregated in two different areas: Inside Battery Limits (ISBL), consisting of Crude Distillation Unit with Debutanizer, Naphtha Hydrotreater, Naphtha Splitter, Catalytic Reformer, Diesel Treater and Gasoline Stabilizer; while the Outside Battery limits (OSBL) consists of 70,930 m3 of crude and refined product storage tanks capacity (32 units of various tank sizes); multiple-station loading-bay gantries; utilities for the ISBL and OSBL (instrument/plant air, raw water treatment, steam generation, cooling water, nitrogen, fire and gas, flare, waste water treatment and its own power generation); 3.1km internal road network; maintenance, operational and administrative buildings; vapour recovery unit; fire stations; and other ancillaries.

Refinery Site
Azikel Refinery Project is located in Obunagha, Gbarain, Yenagoa, Bayelsa State. The project is bounded by the River Nun on the South, Obunagha community on the North, Gbarain NIPP Power plant on the Northwest, the proposed Azikel Power Plant on the West and Gbarian-Ubie Shell Gas Gathering Facility on the East. The Azikel Refinery location affords it reliable access to feedstock supplies because of its proximity of a distance of twenty meters from the Gbarian-Ubie Shell Facility, from which it will get its feedstock requirements.
